By David Reed, UT EditorWyandotte, Michigan-BASF Corp announced 6 July that it will increase prices for its thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) product line in the United States, Canada and Mexico by $0.15 per pound (about €0.27 per kg), effective 1 Aug. 2004. The materials are offered under the Elastollan tradename which is now a global brand name for the firm’s TPUs. “This increase is necessary to restore margins to a level required to support additional investment in Elastollan TPUs in this region,” said James Lausch, Director of BASF’s Elastollan TPU business in North America, in a prepared statement.”
