Cangzhou, Hebei – Connell Group signed an agreement with local authorities on 5 August to build its 800kT/year MDI project in Cangzhou Coastal-Port Economic & Technological Development Zone in Hebei province, according to the Development Zone’s website.
The project will take up 1.2m ㎡ total area in the zone, and will be able to partner up with nearby plants such as TDI maker Dahua’s caustic soda facilities. Connell Group plans to pump RMB7.6bn ($1.2bn) investment into the project.
Connell Group is a conglomerate based in Jilin, with subsidiaries in chemicals, chemical machinery, pharmaceuticals, logistics and mining.
Its subsidiary Connell Chemical claims to be the world’s largest aniline maker, supplying to China’s northeastern, north and east areas and exporting to the US, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and India.
