Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu – Dow Chemical broke ground on 27 April on a project with 120kT/year formulated polyether polyol capacity at its existing site in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu.
The new plant, located in the city’s Yangtze River International Chemical Industry Park, has CNY 364m ($53m) investment earmarked with a total area of 22,000 m2. It’s scheduled to come on stream in 2019 and will be the first polyol facility at the site, the company told UTECH-polyurethane.com.
“This is a significant milestone in our growth history. China is a very important market for Dow Polyurethanes and we have been part of China Growth story for many years,” said Dow Polyurethanes’ Asia Pacific product director Chandra Nayak at the groundbreaking ceremony.
“[The project] is a strong proof of our commitment to customers, to focus on innovation and to continue our growth in China,” Nayak added.
