By Patrick Raleigh UT On-line/news editorMidland, Michigan-Dow Chemical Co. is to raise the price of its Voranate TDI (toluene diisocyanate) product by $0.08/pound, with effect from 1 June. The increase applies to all market segments and end-use applications in the US and Canada, the company announced 10 May. The price rise is linked to energy and raw material cost pressures during the first quarter, which are expected to last throughout 2004, according to Richard Beitel, commercial director, Dow Polyurethanes. “Recently announced price increases have not completely offset the effect of hydrocarbons and energy prices on our costs, making a further increase necessary to obtain acceptable margins for our TDI product offering” Beitel said in a Dow press statement.”
