Dutch sealant maker expands sales set up in East Europe, former Soviet region

By Liz White, UT contributing editorOosterhout, the Netherlands-Den Braven Sealants, based in Oosterhout, has recently set up new offices and warehouses in Croatia, Georgia and Russia and opened a new warehouse in Moldova. In Georgia, the polyurethane sealant maker has set up a new company in Tblisi, managed by George Vachnadze, a well-known figure in the sealant and polyurethane foam market, who has worked in this field for many years, in many European countries and companies, said a press statement from the firm. Vachnadze’s wish to return to Georgia, his home country, “and the good relationship he had with Den Braven Sealants,” provided an ideal opportunity to set up a Den Braven unit in the region, said Den Braven. At the end of 2003, Den Braven also set up a new sales office and warehouse in Chisinau, Moldova to meet local high volumes of demand, followed strong sales in Moldova from Den Braven’s Romanian operation. The firm, which makes PU, acrylic and silicone sealants as well as adhesives and one-component PU spray foam, has also started a business in Russia.Den Braven says it has expanded strongly in recent years, setting up sales offices and warehouses “in most former Eastern European countries with great success over the last decade,” and it adds that it will open more offices in the near future. “
