By Liz White, UT staffEast Botany, Sydney-Era Polymers has signed a licensing agreement with US firm Stepan Co. which will allow Era exclusive access and manufacturing rights for the US group’s Stepanfoam resin formulations. This will “enhance the extensive array of formulations already on offer by Era,” the group said. The East Botany-headquartered firm said the new arrangement “should further strengthen Era’s position as the leading polyurethane systems house in Australia.”Era will be able to offer Stepanfoam resins based on new-generation blowing agents such as cyclopentane and the hydrofluorocarbon HFC 245a, as well as the existing Stepan 141b and water blown foam resins, said the firm.The partnership will allow Era to offer the Australian market “an impressive array” of Stepan formulations, “blended locally in our state-of-the-art Sydney, Australia, manufacturing plant,” an Era statement said. Earlier in the year, Fomo Products Inc. of Ohio appointed Era Polymers its Australian master distributor. The Fomo product line includes one-component foam (OCF) as well as two-component foams packaged in novel pressurised systems, Era said. “
