Chiangshou, Chongqing – Hantuo Technology is to start its project to build facilities for TPU and other related products in March, the company told UTECH-polyurethane.com.
The project will expand the capacity of Hantuo’s existing portfolio and includes 8kT/year capacity for TPU, 4kT/year for waterborne PUD, 6kT/year for waterborne adhesives, 6kT/year for hot melt adhesives, 4kT/year for auto interior treatments and 2kT/year for coatings.
Currently only a small amount of the company’s TPU raw material is self-produced; the rest is imported from Korea and compounded to make the final product, said the project’s environmental filing last December.
Construction of the project will take six months and another three months of installation and trial run will be needed before it starts operation, said the company. The project has 26,700 m2 total area and is located at the company’s new site in Chongqing’s Changshou Economic and Technological Development Area.
