Chongqing, China – Huafon Spandex started trial run in November, 2014 for its 30kT/year differentiated spandex project located at Baitao Industrial Park in Chongqing, China.
The contract for the project was signed in July 2013. This is the first phase of a 60kT/year project with a 334,000m² area and an RMB2bn ($327m) investment, including RMB1.1bn for the first phase and RMB0.9bn for the second phase, according to the company’s announcement.
Huafon currently has a 57kT/year spandex capacity and the new plant is expected to go into operation by the end of 2014. Plans for the phase two project are yet to be set.
