Lear's Iowa plant wants $250 000 city grant
Iowa City, Iowa- Lear Corp. wants financial aid from Iowa City to upgrade its Iowa City auto parts factory and save 318 jobs, according to a report in the Iowa City Press-Citizen.
Lear is reported to be asking the city for $250 000 for its 2500 Highway 6 East plant, to help with a $17-million project to improve its spray urethane program. The city’s cash would cover infrastructure improvement costs, such a turn lane on Industrial Park Road onto Highway 6, the newspaper added.
