By Roger Renstrom, UT Akron BureauMountain View, California-Reaction injection moulder Rimnetics Inc. has added space, assimilated acquisitions and positioned itself to boost production.
Improvements at the company’s three facilities started in 2003 and will be finished in 2004, said Walter Chew, president and marketing manager.
The company has its administrative offices and makes some RIM parts in Mountain View. Its other operations are in Loomis and Riverside, California
Rimnetics employs 38, focuses on processing polyurethane and operates 13 RIM presses including two in Mountain View, five in Loomis and six in Riverside. Gary Quigley, engineering manager, oversees the production activities.
In January 2003, Rimnetics completed relocation of its mould making shop, research and development and wood-replica moulding about 75 miles from Concord, California, to Loomis.
In the same month, Rimnetics bought some of the assets of RIM moulder Western Polyform Inc. and took possession of premises that Western had leased in Riverside. Rimnetics intends to use the Riverside site for high-volume production under ISO 9002 quality standards now being put in place.
