By Liz White, UT staffMinneapolis, Minnesota-US furniture maker Select Comfort Corp. issued further information on its foam supply situation on 18 Oct.”We have been notified by our foam supplier that our allocation of foam has been increased, following expanded production capacity of TDI, a key chemical used to make foam,” said Bill McLaughlin, chairman and ceo of the group. McLaughlin said Select has also been working successfully with its supplier to find alternative chemical solutions and in securing an alternative foam source. Restrictions in foam supplies in October have not translated into significant delivery delays to the furniture group’s customers, he added. Unlike La-Z-Boy, Select Comfort said, the short-term situation does not impact our outlook for the fourth quarter.”
