Monticello, Minnesota – The Sidewinder spray foam hose wrap system from Suburban Manufacturing has proved extremely popular with contractors since it was launched last autumn, the company said.
There was immediate interest, according to Suburban’s business development manager, Derek Larson. “[Contractors] are tired of dealing with duct tape and worrying about how to keep chemicals at the correct temperatures when spraying,” he said. “We have been selling our sleeve to 1–2 rig owners, 8–10 rig companies and up to national contractors who will be retrofitting their rigs with our sleeve.”
The company collaborated with Keith Bowie, vice-president of Ecologic Spray Foam in Canada, to create a hose wrap-sleeve system to assist contractors with hose bundle management and, importantly, maintain optimum temperature levels within the hose bundle, particularly in colder regions.
There are two versions of the sleeve, one offering abrasion protection, and the other heat containment. A heavy urethane coating gives the sleeve a super-low coefficient of friction, Suburban said.
Suburban has partnered with both regional and natural distributors in the US that deal directly with spray foam contractors, and will also have a distributor in the UK, the firm said.
