Shrewsbury, UK – Urespec has set up a manufacturing joint venture in Mexico to supply the North American market with bismuth and zinc catalysts. “It started in early 2016, and it is still early days, but it is going well,” said managing director Nigel Thompson.
The UreCAT range was introduced at UTECH North America 2016. The bismuth and zinc based catalysts are less toxic than those based on tin and mercury. “We have some novel technology that standard bismuth and zinc catalysts do not, such as improved hydrolysis resistance,” Thompson said. “They also offer better snap time, better gel time, and are more user-friendly.”
The catalysts are specifically for the North American market. ‘We also have a new distributor in North America, Chris Mangano of Aegis,” he said. “There has been a lot of interest, especially in Mexico, and we will be at the UTECH show in Mexico City next year.”
UTECH North America 2016 was held in Charlotte, North Carolina from 6-7 April 2016.
