Stuttgart, Germany – The FSK has gained a new member, Vohringer, a family-owned firm which is involved in rigid polyurethane for lightweight parts.
Vohringer has four business areas: surface coating, furniture production, profiles and polyurethane parts.
The company specialises in polyurethane integral rigid foam. It makes a range of parts in the material for the caravan industry.
Integral rigid polyurethane is useful in the sector because it is lightweight and has high specific strength. In addition, it resists ageing because of its closed surface and outstanding thermal insulation is useful too.
Klaus Junginger, FSK managing director, welcoming Vohringer said: “there are many reasons for lightweight construction and continued development of lightweight materials.’
Thomas Vohringer, managing director at Vohringer said ‘blend, density and process are precisely tailored to the needs of our customers.
‘Components such as inserts are planned in when we make the moulds. PU integral rigid foam leaves a lot of creative scope.’
He added that these materials can be achieved in foil to waterproof or be given a ‘classy leather cover.’
The FSK is a predominantly German association of foamed plastics manufacturers.
