He takes over from Guiseppe Santoro of Dow, who is transferring to another division of the company. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead a number of initiatives on sustainability issues that affect polyurethane producers and downstream activities,” commented Tear in an 18 Oct Bayer UK press statement.”Our current programme includes working with regulators and business stakeholders on occupational health as well as safe handling and transportation best practice guidance – all of which impact the reputation of the industry,” he added.The IPSG addresses special regulatory and sustainability issues in the supply chain of the sector and lobbies regulators on industrial hygiene, sensitisation and transportation issues. Its current membership is taken from Bayer MaterialScience, Dow Chemical, Elastogran, Huntsman Polyurethanes, Gilbert International and The European Diisocyanate and Polyol Producers Association.”
