Beijing – China National Bluestar (Group) has recently appointed Michael Koenig as its ceo, according to an announcement on Bluestar’s website dated 25 January.
Previously the group’s ceo duties were taken by general manager Lu Xiaobao, who resigned after the appointment.
Koenig graduated from the Chemical Engineering Department of the TU Dortmund University in Germany. He joined Bayer in 1990 as process engineer, transferred to China in 2000 where he lead the Bayer Integrated Site Shanghai project, and held several senior positions at Bayer until 2015.
Bluestar plans to expand its global presence in advanced chemical materials, animal nutrition, basic chemical engineering and industrial services.
With experience in such areas and almost a decade spent in China, Koenig is able to help the company achieve such goals as well as integrate its corporate culture at home and abroad, said the announcement.
