Shaoyang, Hunan – Jiantai Footwear plans to build 3m pair/year polyurethane footwear facilities in Shaoyang, Hunan province.
Jingtai plans to rent a 16,000-square-meter vacant plant in Shaodong county where the company is based, close to a provincial highway. It will pump CNY30m ($4.3m) investment into the project, including CNY8m for new machinery.
The local government accepted Jiantai’s environmental impact assessment in November. Machinery installation and conversion of existing facilities will take one month to complete.
About 200 new jobs will be created at the factory. It will consume 5.5m meter/year PU leather, 3m pair/year PU shoe sole and 3 ton/year PU adhesives among other raw materials when on stream, according to the project’s environmental filing.
Jiantai was set up in April 2018 with CNY 19m registered capital. Leather apparel and accessories are other key parts of its business portfolio. The US and Europe are markets for the majority of its products, the filing said.
