Lodz, Poland — Belgian mattress producer DesleeClama has opened a 3,300 m² polyurethane and mattress production facility in Lodz, central Poland.
DesleeClama produces mattresses from various materials, including PUR foam it manufactures, according to data from DesleeClama.
The new facility will make components used in the production of mattresses. It will be located within the SEGRO Business Park Lodz industrial complex.
With its latest investment in Poland, DesleeClama is aiming to strengthen its foothold in the local market, according to a senior company representative.
“One of the main reasons for launching a factory in Lodz was the need to move closer to our customers and improve the quality of our services in the local, Polish market,” said Veronique Mulliez, the managing director of DesleeClam, Europe.
The value of the latest project was not disclosed by the Belgian firm.
Magdalena Szulc, SEGRO’s director for the Central European region, said that the facility was adapted to the needs of the Belgian manufacturer which will provide DesleeClama with “sufficient conditions for the production and storage of components for mattresses”.
The Belgian producer markets its output under various brands, including Actipro, Amazonfair, Angora and Archipel.
DesleeClama was set up in 1928, and it currently operates nine production facilities and subsidiaries on five continents. The company is headquartered in Zonnebeke, Belgium. DesleeClama has annual revenues of close to €100m, and it is operated by a workforce of more than 950.
