Porto Feliz, Brazil – Lanxess is building capacity for polyurethane prepolymers here and plans to close its existing production in Claro, 200 km away.
The new plant is scheduled to start production in the first half
of 2019. The company said it was investing ‘single-digit million Euro amount’ in Porto Feliz.
Markus Eckert, head of the Urethanes Systems business unit said: ‘Our new investment will enable us to sustainably offer local customers specific technical service, fast and reliable product supply.’
He added that ‘South America is a cornerstone in our global network and we are committed to the Brazilian and South American markets.’
The new facility will combine production and application development departments as well as a technical service centre.
