Fairfax, Virginia – The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance has announced the winners of its 13th Annual SPFA National Industry Excellence Awards. The presentations were made at its 2018 Convention and Expo in Mobile, Alabama in January.
The awards are made in six categories, and recognise standout projects in each of these areas.
Elite Insulation and PolyPro, with supplier Icynene-Lapolla won the award in the commercial wall foam category. This was for the Keezell Building in Harrisonburg, Virginia. SDI Insulation with supplier Accella Polyurethane Systems won in the residential wall foam category. The award was given for the Jacobson residence by Bone Structure in Stanford California.
In the two SPF roof categories, the winner for a roof of more than 40,000 sq ft was United Thermal Systems with supplier Gaco Western. This was for Marquardt Switches in Cazenovia, New York. In the under 40,000 ft sq category, the winner was Wedge Roofing with suppliers Everest Systems, Enduris and Lucas for the Mario Corbett Round House in Sausalito, California.
RPC Industries’ Jackcrete division with supplier Jackcrete won in the specialty applications category for the Interstate 264 Midtown Elizabeth river tunnels wall joint sealing and void fill in Virginia. Finally, in the new category for elastomeric roof coatings, the winner was West Roofing Systems and supplier Sherwin-Williams for the Colonnade Roof Towers metal roof restoration in Birmingham, Alabama.
‘We are really proud of this year’s award winners as they showcase not only best practices in the application of materials, but also the exceptional performance and energy efficiency of spray polyurethane foam in a variety of structures,’ said SPFA executive director Kurt Riesenberg.
